A variety of breads on my return

 

I didn’t really feel like firing the oven up today, but fancied some nice breads for an alfresco tea with the family, so knocked up some loaves using the overnight sponge method see below,  a grande fougasse, a focaccia with rosemary and a nice part wholemeal part white loaf……….delicious with some charcuterie, salad from the garden, and some new potatoes with olive oil and parlsey

  1. Fougasse is one of my favourite breads, Richard Bertinet got me into it first when i saw it in his wonderful Crust book, I use the bread recipe here now

  2. made my first fougasse last week – just using my bread maker for the dough and then putting in my (normal) oven – was a huge success – and will be the subject of my next blog post as I was so proud of it. thanks for stopping by at my blog – are you Bristol or Dorset based? I shall add you to my blogroll when bloody blogger allows me back in – bit temperamental today. Wish I’d chosen WordPress, might migrate soon!
