Easy BBQ Sweet Ideas

I’m the first to admit one of my weaknesses at a BBQ is the pudding course, yes sometimes it’s nice to caramelise some fruit, or cook up an exotic pudding, but for me the spirit of BBQ is most captured in something simple such as toasted marshmallows, in this case Mega Mallows, which are huge, there’s two schools of technique here, either allow the mallow to catch fire and then blow out, or gently caramelize over a steady heat. Both methods are valid.

Another really easy one that I chanced across in the twittersphere is to pop Tunnocks Teacakes on the BBQ in their shiny foil wrappers, these are biscuits toed with mallow, and then coated in chocolate. As you can image when warmed on the BBQ they become a wonderfully oozy chocolatey mess, divine.

  1. Daragh suggests Smors, as made with my daughter in France last week. Take one unctuous sugary marshmallow and combine with a biscuit on a skewer and toast.

  2. Bananas with a slice down the middle, stuffed with chocolate, wrapped in tinfoil and put on the bbq. Toasted tea cakes sound great though.
